
Orlando Pirates of South Africa will face TP Mazembe of DR Congo in a friendly encounter on Thursday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Zambia.
Five times African Champions Mazembe are fresh from finishing second in the DRC domestic league while Pirates are currently in preseason.
Micho, the Pirates’ Serbian head coach, said the warm-up will help gauge themselves in match situations.
“We are entering the third phase of our preseason where we want to check readiness of our team in match situations,” the former Uganda Cranes coach told Kahawa Tungu.

“We have qualified for the CAF Champions League after six years and therefore the upcoming match will help us to return lost touch with the best in Africa so that later we can work hard on reaching standards that interclub competitions require,” he added.
Pirates finished second in the 2017-18 Premier Soccer League season hence qualifying for the African Champions League for the first time in six years.
Alongside Mamelodi Sundowns, 2016 winners, they will represent South Africa in the Africa’s top interclub championship next season.
