Siaya Senator James Orengo who has been christened the ‘walking constitution’ was hired by IEBC returning officer of Siaya county in a case challenging the re election of Cornel Rasanga.
James Orengo dismissed evidence presented by former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo saying that it was a classic case of clear cut and paste and that Nicholas Gumbo should have known the consequences of plagiarism.
He poked holes into the expert evidence that was presented by the engineer saying that the document had a myriad of errors and could not qualify to be termed as an expert document.
Orengo said that the Independent candidate should have sort the services of a forensic expert and not just anyone before presenting the evidence to court.
‘In this case, I think you ought to have engaged the services of a forensic expert, not just anybody.’
The former legislator however replied to the senior counsel telling the judge that one did not require a forensic expert to note the difference in the numbers of votes cast for the governor against his votes.
Orengo and Gumbo had during the election period clashed over his endorsement of Rasanga, and at one point accusing him of being a Jubilee mole.
