Wiper and the Amani National Congress (ANC) members are a disgruntled lot after key members were locked out of the ‘powerful’ parliamentary committees.
On Monday, ODM is said to have voted for one of their own, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi even after ANC fronting Nambale legislator, Sakwa Bunyasi.
Wandayi beat Musalia Mudavadi’s man 15 votes to 3 to become chair the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC).
ANC Secretary General, Barrack Muluka while speaking to the Star said that the positions are not only being distributed to ODM members but to the South Nyanza region.
“We expected to see the fair sharing of seats among the coalition partners, but we are seeing the positions being hawked, not to parties, but to South Nyanza region. We cannot say Jubilee is doing bad things yet we are also doing the same,” Muluka said.
Ayub Savula, ANC parliamentary group chairman reiterated that ODM was treating the other parties ‘unfairly’ noting that agreements have been reached but ‘are always first to go against them.’
He says that it was about time the party left NASA and sold Mudavadi’s 2022 presidency bid starting now.
Muluka also pointed out that it was not only the other parties that felt shortchanged but also members of the orange party from without the Nyanza region.
For example, a section of Coast leaders protested against the house leadership list that was dominated by ODM members.
On Sunday, Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori shocked many after he publicly declared that they (leaders and residents) regretted voting for Odinga in the past two elections.
Dori, the Coast Parliamentary Group Chairperson said that the area MPs got a raw deal and should have made the house leadership list.

”I ask you for forgiveness on behalf of Coast MPs. In the last campaigns we led you to NASA. We voted in 27 MPs thus being the majority followed by Nyanza but surprisingly few weeks ago we were shortchanged,”the legislator bemoaned.
Leader of minority, John Mbadi and Minority chief whip in the national assembly, Junet Mohamed rubbished the claims. Wandayi, they said was voted in because other members had faith in him.
