NASA leader Raila Odinga’s elder brother Oburu Oginga has reached out to Jubilee legislators in his campaign for EALA seat.
The former Bondo MP who had earlier denied being on the EALA list also asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to personally reach out to Raila without using proxies.
Oburu allegedly met with Majority leader and Garissa MP Aden Duale in a bid to woo Jubilee MPs to accept his nomination as ODM nominee for the East African Assembly.
Duale had earlier cautioned opposition against presenting names of “girlfriends, brother, sister and relatives,” even as reports confirm that NASA had nominated Odinga’s bother and Kalonzo’s son.
According to the Star, Oburu is said to have confirmed the same averring that;
“Duale is my friend. Even on Friday, I went to his office. I was campaigning for an EALA seat. You have to reach out to everybody, so I was looking for his support.

Oburu reaching out to Jubilee is interesting considering Opposition has encouraged its legislators not to acknowledge Jubilee administration and not to participate in vetting of Uhuru’s cabinet nominees.
Also on the discussion table is a possible end to the political stalemate that has engulfed the Country. The talks brokered by Duale who is a blue eyed boy in UhuRuto’s administration are an attempt to appease the opposition and offer them seats in the cabinet and Parastatals.
Raila’s lieutenants would receive at least two Cabinet posts and four slot for Principal Secretaries,influential parastatal jobs and diplomatic appointments;
Jubilee would use its majority in Parliament to unconditionally approve Oburu and Kalonzo Musyoka’s son Kennedy as members of the East African Legislative Assembly and also donate one of its own six EALA slots to Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC since the party due to its small membership is not entitled to an EALA slot.
