Migori Governor Okoth Obado to stay in custody until October 24 . The High court judge said that was the earliest date she could give a ruling.

His lawyers argued that the governor had not been mentioned anywhere in the affidavits and there he was entitled to bail. The lawyers also argued that the prosecution did not have sufficient evidence to link Obado to the murder .

Okoth Obado’s lawyers also discredited the affidavit by Sharon Otieno’s mother Melida Auma that claimed that a relative had been abducted and threatened stating that the said person had not been mentioned and only an OB number had been represented and no report.

Governor Obado was arrested and detained following the death of his lover Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.
