The court hearing the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal has denied suspect Ann Ngirita an adjournment which she had applied for to seek medical treatment at the Mater Hospital.
The magistrate asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to investigate the medical records of the business woman who is said to have supplied ‘air’ to the NYS and got Ksh60 million.
Sixteen suspects, including NYS ex-director general Richard Ndubai, were released on bail after their sureties were approved.
She had complained of starvation while in incarceration.
“We are being treated as if we have been convicted,” another woman said.
