The National Youth Services (NYS) has cancelled all existing tenders and opened doors for a new tendering process.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, NYS stated that all current suppliers are required to reapply afresh for consideration.
“NYS has invited suppliers and service providers to register afresh to supply goods and services to the institution for the period 2018-2020. All current suppliers are required to reapply afresh for consideration,” read the statement in part.
This comes at the wake of the appointment of new crop of procurement officers to restore public trust in the procurement processes at NYS.

The state organ is facing the second graft scandal involving the loss of Ksh10 billion in dubious tender awards, after the first which saw the loss of Ksh791 million under the watch of the current Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru.
This prompted Public Service CS Margaret Kobia to halt the processing and payment of Sh5.9 billion 2017 bills, as key suspect in the saga faced trial. Kobia also suspended all officers under investigation as part of measures to fight graft.
So far 47 suspects have been arrested and arraigned including Youth Principal Secretary Lilian Mbogo Omollo and former NYS director general Richard Ndubai.
The application for tenders will close on July 29, 2018.
