Nyeri County Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia’s Nyeri home was on Monday morning broken into by unknown assailants.
The armed thugs are said to have raided the Speaker’s home in Nyeri’s King’ong’o area at around 2 a.m.
“At around 2 am this morning, the thugs gained access into my official residence and on discovering that I and my family were not around, they harassed the security person, from a local security company, who was there,” he said.
Kaguchia was however not present during the raid as he and his family had traveled to Nairobi on Sunday.
He says that a vehicle and a motorcycle belonging to the guard, Boniface Wambugu were vandalized before taking him hostage.
The assailants assaulted the guard and later dumped him along Kiganjo- Nyeri road.
