No love in facebook, Kenyans look elsewhere

Dating in Kenya is now going fully online. This is s phenomenon which was only limited to Kenyans visiting a few foreign dating sites like Afroromance, Afrointroductions and You know facebook brought with it some kind of over the table dating not that kimya kimya type. People would go to facebook, make acquintances and end up dating though with real IDs.

But ow there is a Kenyan dating site by Kenyans for Kenyans. The Lovefindme site comes at a time when Kenyans spend alot of time in social sites like facebook and tagged looking for love. SOme also have been tweeting for love.

The game is changing going by the numbers registering in Lovefindme. AGreed, sites like Lovepot, Mpenzi and others have been there and gone down. Kenyans yearned for that anonimity in finding love which is not there in facebook. Thats what has driven thousands of Kenyans into this website until its launch.

The site which is owned Date Line Kenya ltd is a great step considering the amount of local content out there and always social media sites have been the greatest drive for many locals to join the information superhighway. The owners have been doing alot of advertisement through FM stations and online through Nation. It seems that they have invested alot in the website which is good since most others which tried, either expect the websites to run themselves or simply lost steam along the way.

Buy you have to beware. Three people have already sent me email alerts of 419 scams from registered profiles on the website. Apparently some Nigerian or West African men or women register and start hiting on you and then along the way you hear stories like “I am a Liberian refugee in Senegal blah bla blah”.

Dont say you were not warned.
