Contrary reports have emerged from the county executive committee member on health services stating that it was a leakage from an internal meeting.
Mohamed Dagane revealed that no cases of cholera had been reported in Nairobi but confirmed that they ha received patients with cholera like symptoms and diarrhoea who had been treated at various hospitals around the city.
Mr. Dagane said that cases of cholera have been reported in neighboring counties such as Machakos and those people are said to be moving to Nairobi for Economic and social reasons
He said that six patients in the county had been reported to have cholera like symptoms on Tuesday.
The county executive member said that there was no reason to describe the six isolated cases as an outbreak.
He said that the cholera response team has already made a strategy to curb the disease before it get out of hand.

He said that they have started distribution of chlorine tablets to informal settlements and also disseminating information on cholera .
He urged the general public to maintain high levels of hygiene,boiling and treatment of water and proper disposal of waste .
