The National Assembly has formed a select committee for looking into the amendment of Kenya’s election laws. They said that the committee will consist of 15 members ad the majority said that they are waiting for the minority to present their representatives for the committee.
The members selected from the majority are William Cheptumo (chairperson), Gladys Shollei, Waihenya Ndirangu, Ali Wario, Jennifer Shamalla, Haji Yusuf, George Murugara, Stanley Muthama and Alice Wahome.

The committee has been given up to to October 10 to present a report in the National Assembly.It was decided that the quorum for the committee will be met if the Chairperson and four members are present in a meeting.
The Leader of Majority In the National Assembly Aden Duale said that it was necessary to act expeditiously regarding election matters so as to allow the IEBC ample time to make necessary reviews on election related matters.
