NASA’s Election Results ‘Misleading’ The Public, IEBC Says

iebcThe Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has accused NASA of presenting to the public false information about the August 8 elections.

Acting Chairperson, Consolata Nkatha says that the information presented on Friday by the opposition reveals ‘a total misunderstanding of how the results system worked’ during the elections.

”The presentation by NASA totally misleads the public on the results pathway, the servers, information on the public portal and the forms used to declare results. We can only conclude that this is a deliberate effort to create a non-existent reality about the elections of 2017,” she says in a statement.

NASA presented a document in which ‘all the details of the poll’ are documented. The results in the dossier, Senator James Orengo said were authentic and would be used to swear in Raila Odinga as the People’s President.

”This is it. This is the document that contains results of the election in 2017, in which more than 80 per cent of Kenyans participated,” Orengo said.

”In this report, you will find all the details of polling stations including their codes,” he added.

According to the results in the dossier, Raila got 8.1 million votes compared to Uhuru’s 7.9 million.
