NASA has after holding a Parliamentary group meeting at their Okoa Kenya offices on Wednesday resolved to stay away from both houses of Parliament.
The opposition has said that its elected MPs and Senators will not take part in the formation of key house committees.
According to them, the house as is constituted is illegal.
Jubilee legislators are present in parliament discussing proposed names to the House Business Committee. The opposition snubbed the sitting and asked the Speaker Justin Muturi to halt the process.
Muturi, not heeding to their request accused the opposition of trying to hold the house hostage. He said the legislators were lazy citing the fact that they did not submit their preferred committee members.
“This House under my watch will not be held hostage by members or parties that are exhibiting indolence,” the Speaker said.
Leader of Majority, Aden Duale proposed Kipipiri MP and former Finance Minister Amos Kimunya, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack John Mose, Meru County Woman Representative Kawira Mwangaza and Turkana County Woman Representative Joyce Akai Emanikor to be members of the committee.
Speaking on behalf of the minority in the National Assembly, John Mbadi asked for more time to submit their list of nominees.
