The National Super Alliance (NASA) will not hold the swearing in ceremony at Uhuru Park as communicated earlier, an opposition MP has said.
Speaking to the Nation, an insider intimated that the opposition had changed venues after yesterday’s (Monday) development. It was said that the recreational park had been booked by the Nairobi Business Community and an unnamed church.
”When we chose Uhuru Park, we knew the Jubilee leadership would thwart our mission by ensuring the venue is cordoned off by police. We have chosen a different location that will be known during or after the event,” the unidentified legislator said.
The business community’s chairperson, Wilfred Kamau said that they were holding a free medical camp on January 30 targeting street boys who wished to get circumcised.
ODM Communications Director, Philip Etale on Sunday said that the park was fifth on their list of options.
ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi on Monday assured opposition supporters that plans to swear in Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka were still on.
”Our communication in Mombasa on Sunday was clear. As long as there is no contrary message, the swearing in is on,” he said.

The opposition has threatened to go ahead with the oath taking ceremony should the ruling regime not initiate talks in seven days.
Musyoka while speaking in Mombasa warned that Kenya was headed for a civil war, adding that President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto were being arrogant.
US ambassador to Kenya, Robert Godec has been trying to initiate talks between the two political divides in a bid to ensure that the swearing in does not happen.
