    Nakuru GK Prison Warder Arrested Over Colleague’s Death

    A Nakuru GK Prisons warder has been arrested in connection to the murder of his colleague found dead in a bush.

    The man identified as Joseph Kairu, is said to be the last person seen with the deceased on the day she went missing.

    Nakuru Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) David Wangai, confirmed the arrest.

    The body of 28-year-old Caroline Jepchirchir Chesire, who went missing last week, was found on Wednesday in a thicket at Githiolo village in Subukia sub-county.

    Nakuru Town East sub-county police commander Ellen Kabukuru revealed that a report of the missing warder was first made by the deceased’s father Michael Chesire at Nakuru Central Police Station on Monday evening.

    The officers at the station immediately launched investigations.

    On Wednesday, detectives received information of a decomposing body which had been found in a bush.

    Reports indicate on arriving at the scene with family members of Jepchirchir, the kins positively identified the body.

    The body had injuries on the head and chest. It was moved to a mortuary in Nyahururu.

    In a separate incident on Sunday, the body of a 7-year-old boy was found dumped in a forest in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County.

    The body of the boy was discovered at around 4pm by a group of children herding animals in the forest.sta

    Area Nyumba Kumi elder Stephen Arap Koech, who spoke to a local media, divulged that the boy seemed to have been strangled before his body was dumped in the forest.

    “On looking at the body of the boy it seemed like he was strangled before the body was thrown at the forest which is near a police post,” Koech said.
