Kenya Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has been selected by the UN general assembly to head the United Nations world tourism organization commission for Africa, that focuses on channelling Africa’s concerns to the the global body.
The former politician and Mombasa mayor has worked in the tourism sector for the most part of his career and this achievement will be a plus for him and Kenya.

Each commission from all six regions select a chairperson and vice chair person. The chairperson post had been held by Zimbabwe from 2015.
Najib Balala will hold the post for two years.
