Nairobi County Staff Arraigned In Court As Governor Sonko Narrows In On Cartels

A Nairobi county staff has been arrested for allegedly colluding with his to swindle the county off Sh. 1 million while purporting to assist Eastleigh bar owners association to acquire liquor licensing from the board.

John Ongonga Monyoncho was accused of acquiring money from the Eastleigh Bar owners association on three different occasions at his Garden Square office. He assured the bar owners that he was in a position to assist them acquire the license and had swindled them and in turn the county an amount amounting to Sh1,064,000.

The accused staff went into hiding as soon as their cartel was nabbed and failed to appear in court with his colleagues. He was arrested after the court issued a warrant of  arrest.

The governor has asked any one who has been swindled by the cartel to report Nairobi city county for  further investigations
