Malindi Member of parliament has said that her support for Deputy president William Ruto was an extension of the Raila-Uhuru handshake.

She declared that ODM party leader Raila Odinga had said that the enmity and competition between NASA and Jubilee was water under the bridge.

“I am working with Deputy President William Ruto because my party leader Raila Odinga embraced the handshake with President Kenyatta.
Raila said it’s over; it’s water under the bridge, we need to work together and focus on the future. That’s what we are doing and there should be no problem with this,” Aisha Jumwa said in Vanga Kwale county

She said that she was joining her fellow hustler who was the same level as her. The Malindi Legislator said that she will not only fight for people at the top only she would also want the people at the bottom to be fought for.

It seems like Deputy president Ruto is gaining traction in unusual terrain if the utterances by the coastal leaders is anything to go by.

In Meru, the leaders said that they would support the Deputy President in 2022 but only if he chose Peter Munya as his deputy president. Senator Mithika Linturi said that the area boasted of 1.5 million votes for William Ruto therefore it was only fair that they get a senior position in government.
