Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has pledged to support police officers during his tenure.
This he said during a visit to GSU headquarters in Ruaraka and Recce Unit headquarters in Ruiru where he promoted two Recce Squad officers from the rank of a Police Constable (PC) to Corporal (CPL).
The officers sustained injuries during terrorist attacks.
Mutyambai also thanked the elite Recce squad officers for taking control of the situation at Dusit D2 where 21 people lost their lives and others sustained injuries.
He also noted that officers should not be left to suffer in silence. He made note of the case of former 1500 metres world champion Asbel Kiprop who threatened to misuse his gun.

“Team spirit should be a guiding norm to all police officers thus by so doing suicide cases in the National Police Service will be a thing of the past,” he said.
Mutyambai later met up with Kiprop who has been handed a four year ban by IAAF for doping.
The police chief referred to Kiprop as a hero that shall never be forgotten.
