Uganda President, Yoweri Museveni left President Uhuru Kenyatta in tears as he criticized the EAC Summit organizers for having the heads of states and other guests in an ill-conditioned room.
He on behalf of the Ugandan group apologized for having the EAC partners in a ‘kafunda‘ (squeezed room) without air conditioning.
“I am very sorry for your suffering, I can see you are all sweating. Thanks to the poor organization of the Uganda group. They are always determined to inconvenience our visitors I don’t know for what reason,” Museveni said.
Amid laughter, he warned the organizers saying: “This will really be the last time I tolerate these officials who habitually inconvenience our visitors with poor arrangements. Even the doors are not properly sealed and I can see protocol officers moving up and down.”
He noted that it would have been better if the event was held outdoors as they would enjoy the Lake Victoria breeze.
He once again apologized to the guests who included heads of state for, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, and South Sudan.
“Once again I am sorry for spoiling your working holiday over here,” he added.
