Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni sent ripples throughout the internet following his “un-stately” congratulatory message to military officers during a passing out parade.
The head of state did however caution the crew whose future he noted were very bright against risky lifestyles. He asked them to shun ‘umalaya, corruption and alcohol.’
”Congratulations to the crews and my advice to them is that they should avoid risky lifestyles – avoid umalaya, alcohol and corruption. Their future is bright,” Museveni said on Twitter.
But what caught the peoples attention was ‘umalaya’ which loosely translates into prostitution.
Umalaya? Does it have the same meaning in UG as to the KE term

The internet users also felt that Museveni who has been in power for over three decades is only trying to ‘cozy up’ to the military after Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe was overthrown by the military on Tuesday, 14 November.
Mugabe had been in power for thirty years before his forceful exit.
Museveni’s party, National Resistance Movement has been seeking to scrap the age limit which means that he (Kaguta) will run even after he clocks 75 years.
