Former Meru Governor Peter Munya has applied to withdraw his petition challenging the election of incumbent Kiraitu Murungi.
Munya who had held on the suit despite calls to withdraw the petition including from President Uhuru himself has finally filed to withdraw the case fueling speculation that he might be headed for a Cabinet job in UhuRuto’s administration.
While campaigning in Meru in October after the Supreme court nullified August 8 election and called for fresh elections,President Kenyatta offered to mediate between the two and urged Munya to withdraw the election petition he has filed against Kiraitu and even offered Munya a job if they win the October 26 repeat election.

Those who were also promised jobs during many campaign stops the President made include former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, former Kitui Senator David Musila, and a host of other defectors from the Nasa strongholds of Coast, Western and Nyanza regions.
The ruling duo are set to unveil their Cabinet in the early weeks of December next month
