Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch has petitioned Speaker of National Assembly Justin Muturi to allow fresh inquiry into the alleged importation of illegal and contaminated sugar.
The legislator wrote to the speaker of the August House seeking to waive the six months period after a matter that has already been resolved in Parliament is to be presented again.
The report presented by the Agriculture and Trade committee on Thursday was defeated on the floor of the House but can be re-introduced on omission of the speaker.
In his petition the legislator says that the report did not tell whether Kenyans were really consuming contaminated sugar or not.
He further sought to understand why the Kanini Kega led joint committee did not hold individuals accountable for the tax evasion of Sh35 billion lost in the duty free importation window.
