The Motorist Association of Kenya is calling motorists to join in the protest of hiked fuel prices on Wednesday. Traffic will be brought to a standstill as motorists are expected to park their vehicles and walk away, in protest.

The protest will go for 3 hours, from 7.30 AM to 10.30 AM causing a grid lock around Nairobi.
The increased levy on fuel products has been protested since its announcement by the treasury cabinet.
Matatu Owners Association Chairman, Simon Kimutai announced that fare prices will consequently go up and as expected, cost of living is also bound to go up.

The move will bring Nairobi to a standstill.
It comes a day after the Gazetted announcement of Tuesday being a holiday to celebrate Islam’s Eid Al Adha.
Muslim leaders are calling for Wednesday to be the holiday but that is yet to be confirmed.
Pedestrians and Matatu users are bound to suffer on Wednesday as matatus may not b in operation.
