Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria was received with a lot of hostility in Nyamira county when he tried to ‘sell’ the UhuRuto duo in the county.

Accompanied by former trade minister Amos Kimunya and local Jubilee Party officials, they made a stop over at Nyamira where the heckling took place.

Just as he started listing off Jubilee government’s appointments and accomplishments in the county, National Super Alliance supporters reared their angry heads and shouted down the leaders.

According to the Standard on Thursday, June 22, they were shouted down with “NASA and Unga” chants, forcing Kuria to attempt speaking over the shouting.

“I have come to request you to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta because he loves you.He has appointed Matiangi, PS Susan Mochache and Walter Nyambati to the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation. If you vote Jubilee, you will included much more in his government,” said Kuria.

The very loud legislator attacked the NASA brigade in a county perceived to be an opposition stronghold.

“Raila, Mudavadi and Kalonzo have collectively unsuccessfully tried seven times to capture the presidency. Rala thrice, Mudavadi and Kalonzo twice. How do you expect them to win this election if they have come together,” Kuria told a charged crowd.

Reports have it that the convoy quickly packed up and left.

Kuria however took to social media rubbishing the claims saying:

“Do I look like someone anybody can beat? Unless you want an immediate meeting with your maker,” replied Kuria.

He also thanked Nyamira residents for receiving him warmly on Wednesday, June 21.
