President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday held talks with retired President Daniel Moi and his son, Gideon Moi at his Kabarak home.
Details of what was discussed remains scanty but Kenya’s second President’sĀ Press Secretary Alex Kiprotich confirmed the visit.
In May Deputy President William Ruto paid a courtesy call to the retired President but did not get to see the 93 year old former head of state as he was undergoing a routine physiotherapy session.
Those close to the family say that the DP had not booked an appointment prior to the visit.
“Those who want to meet Mr Moi must ensure protocol is observed. People meet the retired President everyday because there is nothing private about his life. The DP arrived at the time Mzee was being attended to by his doctors and for us that was of paramount importance,” KANU Secretary General Nick Salat said.
In April, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga paid Moi a visit and was warmly welcomed.
