Lawyer Miguna Miguna has dismissed word going round that Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko had nominated him to the position of Deputy Governor.
“Good Afternoon? I have no idea what nearly everyone is talking about. It’s a malicious distraction. That’s all I’m saying,” Miguna said in a message seen by Kahawa Tungu.
Sonko in a letter addressed to County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, said that Miguna was qualified for the job and meets the qualifications provided for in the Constitution.
Elachi on Thursday confirmed receiving Sonko’s preferred nominee but noted that the NRM general had to first clear his citizenship issues with the government which could take three to four months.
Also weighing in on the matter was Nairobi County Senator, Johnson Sakaja who lit up the internet.
“Miguna will not become the Deputy Governor of Nairobi. Take that to the bank.”

The deported lawyer was set to make his return into the country on Wednesday but postponed his arrival date after the government failed to facilitate his return as ordered by court.
