Kashiwa Reysol striker Michael Olunga followed last weekend’s Japan Cup brace with a league winner against Albirex Niigata at Denka Big Swan Stadium on Saturday.
After a barren first half, the former Gor Mahia forward netted the lone goal in the 73rd minute to secure all the three points.
Reysol have had a perfect start to life in the J-League 2 and have so far recorded three wins in three outings.
The team is joint top of the Japanese second division league with nine points same as Mito HollyHock, who have a better goal difference.
Olunga’s rich vein of form is sweet music to Harambee Stars as they gear up to a big return to the AFCON set for Egypt mid this year.

The striker made coach Sebastian Migne’s 24-man squad for the final AFCON 2019 qualifying match away to Ghana’s Black Stars on 23rd March.
Kenya and Ghana have already qualified for the biennial continental showpiece and will use the match as part of their preparations for the tournament proper.
