A woman in her early twenties is fighting for her life at the Meru Level Five Hospital after she was attacked by a married woman in Makutano area, Meru County.
The young woman, said to be a college student in the area, was reportedly busted naked at the woman’s matrimonial home at around 4.am on Wednesday.
The enraged woman, who had just returned from visiting her parents in Githongo, Central Imenti, is said to have reached for a panga and badly injured the victim’s arm.
Locals who responded to the cries of the student, had a rough time containing the situation.
The woman accused the college girl of wrecking her marriage.
Thereafter, she left with the student’s clothes and phone, as residents rushed the victim to hospital.
The woman’s husband, who works at a bakery firm in Meru town, was reportedly not at home during the Wednesday morning incident.
Police have launched investigations into the attack.
However, locals say the woman had vowed to present herself at any police post with the victims belongings as evidence.
The incident comes two days after police recovered two decomposing bodies of university students from an apartment near Kenya Methodist University in the same county.
According to reports, the authorities were alerted when the neighbors experienced foul smell coming from the room.
The Meru police mentioned that they suspect that the man killed the woman before committing suicide.
The female’s body, Ann Kanario Kaura, was found lying on the bed in a pool of blood with stab wounds on the thigh, while the man’s body, which was found hanging from the roof had a deep cut on the left thigh.
