Meru University vice Chancellor professor Magambo has been sent on terminal leave after the death of student leader Evans Njoroge who was allegedly shot by police.
He will be replaced by professor Charity Gichuki who takes over as vice chancellor in acting capacity.
Last week Evans Njoroge was shot dead under unclear circumstances but students at the university claimed that hiss death was as a result of his stance on fee increment that the university wanted to implement.
Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi had blamed Professor Magambo of bad leadership which he said was actually led to the death of the student leader.
Professor Magambo was sent on terminal leave after Education CS Amina Mohamed visited the university. His term at the university will be expiring in June this year.
