The media fraternity has donated millions into the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta’s Beyond Zero campaign ahead of the marathon set for March 10.
Since the inception of the initiative, Mrs Kenyatta has received an increase in the donations given towards her course adding up to Ksh163 million.
The media fraternity has led in the contributions as almost all media houses have given huge amounts of money.
Mediamax Group has topped by donating Ksh25 million, followed by Kass TV who contributed Ksh20 million.
Others include: Nation Media Group, Capital FM and the Standard Group, who gave donations of Ksh10 million, Ksh12 million, and Ksh5 million respectively.
These media houses have joined many traditional and new partners, sponsors and supporters who have given to the initiative.
Additionally, Royal Media services gifted the First Lady an open cheque as a media monitoring firm while Magnate Ventures and Reelforge donated Ksh5 million.

Speaking during an event on Tuesday, the First Lady acknowledged that the Beyond Zero Initiative has had a huge impact in healthcare delivery to the financially challenged especially in the remote areas of the country.
“The impact on the ground is truly amazing. You can feel it and you can see it,” Mrs Kenyatta affirmed.
She further reveled that her current focus is on obstetric fistula, a condition she noted continues to frustrate many women.
Other corporate donors include : the Commercial Bank of Africa, whose team, led by its CEO Jeremy Nguze, gave Ksh30 million and the Co-operative Bank of Kenya which gave Ksh20 million.
Kenya Commercial Bank’s CEO Joshua Oigara led his team in donating Ksh20 million. The Kenya Women Finance Trust gave Ksh3 million while Coca Cola Africa and Parapet Cleaning Group gave Sh3 million and Sh2 million, respectively.
Philips Group and Toyota Kenya also contributed the donations giving Mrs Kenyatta Ksh1.8 million and Ksh1.5 million respectively.
A Chinese Firm together with Huawei Technologies, also presented 50 laptops to support healthcare delivery through the Medical Safaris.
The initiative was developed in January 2014.
