A Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology student was on Monday shot as he tried to access the State House, Nairobi.
The man, identified as Brian Kibet Bera sustained injuries on his left shoulder when he drew a knife when asked to surrender.
Police sources say that the fifth year Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering student had posted threatening messages on his Facebook page prior to the incident.
Bera, 25, is said to have gained access into the house on the hill by climbing over “Gate Bravo.”
He has since been booked at Kileleshwa Police Station but is currently at Kenyatta National Referral Hospital where he is receiving treatment.
In 2018 William Ngene was also caught trying to sneak into State House.
Appearing in court, Ngene noted that he only wanted to see where the head of state resides.
“I wanted to see State House with my own eyes because I only get to see it on newspapers and television which made me curious,” he said.
