Veteran Musician Gabriel Omollo famed for the Zilizopendwa hit ‘Lunch time’ has passed on. He died at the Busia county referral hospital after a long illness. He died at the age of 83.
His song Lunch time was the best sold song during his era which he composed it. The song basically described the life of a casual worker who ate poorly during the month but treated themselves to a good meal at the end of the month. He had said that the song was inspired by this daily struggles as industrial area as a casual worker.

He was the first Kenyan musician to be awarded an international gold disc after selling 150,000 copies of his āLunchtimeā single.
In his latter years he was known for encouraging young artist to create timeless content that would inspire rather than engaging in meaningless battles and extreme use of foul language.
