Congolese Rhumba musician Aurlus Mabele has died at the age of 67.
Reports indicate that the Soukous music succumbed to Coronavirus (COVID-19) at a Paris hospital on Thursday night.
Mabele is also said to have been battling throat cancer as well as complications arising from a stroke he suffered in 2005.
Reports indicate that Mabele’s condition worsened after he was infected with Coronavirus that has resulted in 372 deaths in France. A total of 10,995 cases have been confirmed in the country.

The artiste was one of the founders of the legendary supergroup Loketo (hips) band, formed in the mid-1980s alongside Mav Cacharel and Diblo Dibala, which broke up a few years later.
Mabele was one of the first Paris-based soukous stars and set the standard with several LPs in the 1980s.
His popular hits include Embargo, Liste Rouge, Evelyne and Femme ivoirienne among others.

Exactly a year ago, another Congolese Musician Simaro Massiya Passed on in Paris.
The Congolese musician,81, was a soukous rhythm guitarist, songwriter and bandleader.
Simaro was also a member of the seminal soukous band TPOK Jazz which dominated the Congolese music scene from the 1960s.
