Lawrence Webo is set to replace Matthews Ottamax as the new goalkeepers’ coach at AFC Leopards, according to Kahawa Tungu sources.
Matthews announced his resignation “on mutual grounds” Wednesday night after one season sharpening the goal tenders at the den.
Webo is coming from Posta Rangers and is one of the emerging coaches in the trade.
He has previously worked with the national women’s team the Harambee Starlets.
In another looming change in the Leopards’ technical bench, team manager Gilbert Selebwa could be kicked out and his place taken by former Kenyan international Simon Mulama.
Mulama, 38, a former Mathare United midfielder played for Leopards the last time they won the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) in 1998.
Assistant coach and ex-international Tom Juma is also believed to be on his way out.
Leopards recently appointed Serbian Nikola Kavazovic as their new head coach, replacing Argentine Rodolfo Zapata who left at the end of the 2018 KPL season.
The team is again rebuilding as they seek to offer a serious challenge for the KPL title which they last won 21 years ago.
