Just a few days after Kahawa Tungu exposed fake entrepreneur Wilkins Fadhili, BBC Business Editor Larry Madowo has come out to disassociate himself from the ‘Man behind brands’, as he calls himself.

While sending a warning to Kenyans, Larry says that he has never met nor interacted with Wilkins Fadhili as he claimed, and he would be taking legal action against him.

From previous narratives, Wilkins got his breakthrough at 24 years when he was invited to be one of the speakers at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), hosted in Kenya and attended by the then US President Barrack Obama, a narrative that Kahawa Tungu cannot validate.

Mr Fadhili was at the time the CEO of Fashion Torch Africa, an incubation hub for upcoming Fashion and Creative Arts entrepreneurs and he says that the GES team reached out to him due to the work that he was doing at Fashion Torch.

He later claimed that he had received a Sh16.5 million donation as an investment for his business, from CEO of a US firm known as 1608 Creatives. Despite having a ‘multi-million’ company, Fadhili’s companies have no official website and he uses a Wix site to market his services.

On his website, he has listed various celebrities as his clients including Adelle Onyango, Edith Kimani, Betty Kyallo, Usain Bolt among others, allegations that he has since denied.

Wilkins however denied listing Larry as one of his clients, stating that it was one of his social media handlers who made the mistake of adding his name.

After Larry’s public announcement, many other celebrities have come out to deny their association with Wilkins and say that they have never met him.

His fellow Blaze mentor, Olive Karmen has called him out, urging him to stop lying to people and be honest with everyone.

She claims that Wilkins normally requests to pose for photos with celebrities and then end up posting them as his clients.

Fashion stylist Beata Otieno also came out to confess that he had been conned by the fake entrepreneur.
