Kenyans on Twitter also known as KOT have dissed the locally made car also known as the “Laikipia Car.”
The car was part of Laikipia County government’s invention displayed at the sixth Devolution Conference held in Kirinyaga County.
The invention dubbed ‘BJ-50’ has been turned into a joke by netizens who are now comparing it to a sausage trolley.
According to governor Nderitu Mureithi, the BJ-50 has a capacity of seven passengers and will be going for Sh450,000 once in the market.
The trolley like “tuk-tuk” has according to an article on the county website, a cruise speed of 70 Km per hour and has already been pre-ordered by at least 26 “influential personalities.”
Here are some of the reactions:

But honestly, why would a county government waste funds in developing a car?
What value addition is it to the people of Laikipia? Of all the basic services lacking, is a car really necessary?
