Three Bomet county residents moved to court challenging Bomet Governor, Dr Joyce Laboso’s August win.
The three voters filed the case at the High Court with the intention of having her win nullified as was President Uhuru Kenyatta’s.
The petitioners; Alvin Koech, Richard Sigei and Elijah Koech claimed that the governor election was marred with voter bribery. They also said that the total number of votes cast exceeded the number of registered voters in some polling stations.
One of the petitioners claimed that the now county boss had been on a local radio station on the eve of the elections, where she accused then Governor, Isaac Rutto of handing out unga to residents.
