Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso has been accused of shortchanging a young Kalenjin vernacular musician who graced Jubilee campaign trails in the Rift Valley.
Marion Cherotich famous for the hit campaign song “Jubilee Emet” (Jubilee tosha” is said to have been awarded Toyota Probox and 250K by DP Ruto and a Tractor plus half a million by the President through Governor Laboso.
Laboso and her Personal Assistant identified as Bridgid Korir are alleged to have swindled the lady the money forcing her to seek for justice at a local radio station known as Emoo FM.
In the clip heard by Kahawa Tungu, Cherotich who is set to join form two next year after getting sponsorship from nominated MP Gideon Keter said she was told by Ruto’s blue eyed boy Farouq Kibet that her money from both DP and Kenyatta had been given to Laboso.
The girl shed tears painfully as she narrated on live radio how she was invited to perform at Kasarani during President Kenyatta’s swearing in but was dumped at the stadium by Laboso’s honchos who were tasked to offer her transport to the venue and back to Eldoret forcing her to beg for a lift back home.
“They also hid one of my invites for the State luncheon and only gave me the one for Kasarani,” she narrated amidst sobs.
Cherotich said she had earlier composed the song that played a major role in the election of Laboso as Governor and said when she first highlighted her issue on Facebook, Laboso’s PA told her she will not get her money for exposing them.
The girl has asked those who have capitalized on her gullible self to release the git given by the generous President and his Deputy thanks to her talent.
Many from the Rift Valley have taken to social media to petition Laboso to ensure the gifts reach the intended recipient but a section claimed this was a political ploy to discredit Laboso.
