Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia (PSZ) has reportedly submitted popular spirit Konyagi for tests following abnormal sexual effect claims.

Speaking on Monday, PSZ chairman Jerome Kanyika confirmed that samples of the spirit have been submitted to Zambia Medicine Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) for examination.

Kanyika said some consumers had raised concerns over the drink produced by Tanzania Distilleries Limited

Many had complained of abnormal erection after taking the spirit.

Zambian Daily Mail reports that some of the locals interviewed had opted for the drink to increase their libido.

ZAMRA report is expected later in the month.

The drink retails in many countries in East Africa, Kenya being one of them.

Kenyans have often made hilarious memes of the spirit, with some confessing of its exceptionally cheap prices and bitter taste.
