Kitui County under Governor Charity Ngilu will attending the sixth Annual Devolution Conference that is to be held at Kirinyaga County amidst contrary reports in the sections of the media.
This comes as even sections of the media reported that the county will not be represented in the conference, in protest of the Ksh2 million participation fees.
However, Kahawa Tungu learns that an advance team made up of officers from the office of the Governor and other county departments have already arrived at the conference’s venue.
“The Governor Charity Ngilu has already joined other governors in Kirinyaga ahead of the opening ceremony on Tuesday 5th March 2019 and any contrary information must be treated as inaccurate and misleading,” said a source from the county.

The county went ahead to put up a billboard of Governor Ngilu confirming her attendance to the event.
“I will be attending,” captioned the picture if the County boss on the billboard.
Other governors who had been reported to miss the conference include Fahim Twaha (Lamu) and Salim Mvurya (Kwale).
Calls to the governor to ascertain the stand of the county on the matter went unanswered.
The conference is to take place from March 4 to 8, 2019.
