Kenyans have taken to social media to condemn the management of Kisumu International Airport over the state of the lounges as pictures and videos emerged showing a flooded area.
The lounge, is seen in the video to have leaking roofs forcing the passengers to stand on the sidelines of the room.
The condition of the lounge surprised netizens since it is barely three years since the airport underwent an upgrade.
Captioning a video of the place, Ibrahim Jonny exclaimed: “Kisumu airport. After spending all that money and the whole lounge is leaking. Shithole country,”
One Mbori wondered: “This is an international Airport wapi @PDUDelivery (President’s Delivery Unit) #Kisumucity.”

It is reported that several plans had trouble landing in the areas as there was presence of heavy rains, strong winds and a foggy weather.
“Was a challenge both into and out of Kisumu Airport this (Friday) afternoon/evening,” one Kenyan stated on social media.

It is further noted that planes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport had to fly back to Nairobi due to the harsh and unstable weather condition for landing.
