Rapper King Kaka is the only Kenyan artist making it on Apple Music’s 2018 A-list of African music with his latest club banger “Dundaing.”

The hit has over 1 million views on YouTube despite being briefly pulled down for violating community guidelines.

Last week, the hit once again made waves after a Kenyan deejay based in the US, Ivy the DJ played it during an NBA game between Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks.

The list of 49 songs comprises of African songs that have made waves in the year 2018.

Nigerian artists dominate the list with at least 19 songs featured, followed closely by Ghana, with 13 songs and South Africa at a distant third with seven songs.

Some of the prominent names from Nigeria appearing on the list include Tiwa Savage, Davido, Wizkid, Tekno, Mr Eazi and Kizz Daniel.

21 year old South African rapper Nasty C also made the list alongside Tanzania’s Mbosso with his “Hodari” hit.

Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio will broadcast on December 12 a special show with some of the artists appearing on the A list.

“The special showcases the sounds coming out of Africa and includes interviews with artists like Nasty C, who discusses the shift in Afro beat culture. Plus, Darkie Fiction, Shane Eagle and Sho Madjozi and more reflect on their successes and Africa’s influence on global pop music,” Apple Music says in a statement.
