A class six pupil was on Thursday confirmed dead after he was allegedly kicked by a teacher.
The Mikuyuni Primary School pupil was rushed to Kibwezi AMREF Sub-county Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Confirming the incident was Kibwezi Sub-County Police Commander Ben Changulo who noted that investigations into the incident are on-going.
“It’s true the pupil has passed on at the facility but we will let the investigating team to tell us what caused his death,” Mr Changulo said.
He warned those spreading word that the boy had been kicked by a teacher. Instead he asked them to await postmortem results.
“We don’t want to go by speculations, otherwise, let’s wait for the results of the investigating team and perhaps the postmortem,” he added.
The pupil’s remains have been taken to Makindu Sub-county Hospital mortuary.

On Tuesday a form three student of St Joseph’s Nyabigena High School succumbed to injuries after being beaten by a school prefect who found him reading a Bible.
The High School student from Kisii County was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Tabaka Mission hospital.
