The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman, Wafula Chebukati has declared Uhuru Kenyatta as the duly elected President.
Uhuru Kenyatta, according to the Chair was elected through a free, fair and credible election despite the opposition referring to the fresh polls as ‘shambolic.’
The President garnered 7.4 Million votes that translate into 98% of the votes cast.
“I am confident we did everything to ensure every Kenyan exercised their right to vote….”We came up with a fresh presidential election management team to address concerns. To us as IEBC, all Kenyans and observers, we have had a free, fair and credible election,” Chebukati noted.
The voter turn out was notably low with the voter turn out translating to 38.84 per cent, compared to the 77% voter turn out during the nullified August 8 election.

The opposition led by Raila Odinga has said that it will push for fresh elections to be held in the next 90 days.
