Nyakundi who is as controversial as they come said: ”Pardon me for my ignorance, but who in their right mind would want to rape, let alone have consensual sex with her? Asking for a friend.”
His comments did not sit well with Kenyans online. Some felt he was insensitive as Ms Onyango was in 2008 raped by a stranger while leaving a party for a club in Westlands.
Some felt that the controversial blogger was encouraging the rape culture and was disrespectful towards the morning show host.
Only a few weeks ago, Capital Fm’s Anita Nderu came forward about her sexual harassment ordeals in both matatus and cabs.
Some felt she should have come forward earlier but others felt that assault victims are always attacked for their coming forward.
Anita was harassed twice in broad daylight while in a matatu but still felt helpless specially because the people around did not offer a helping hand.
Adelle and Anita’s stories are meant to help others like them to tell their stories, own them and try and move past the pain of someone violating you.
