Kenyan women have raised concerns over the quality of sanitary towels produced by Always. They said that the sanitary towels were causing burns and skin irritation.

Kenyans living in the diaspora said that the quality of the pads sold abroad is totally different from what is being supplied to the Kenyan market.

The company chose to take a few influencers for a weekend treatment at the Fairmont Hotel in Nanyuki as a PR gimmick as opposed to listening to the issues raised by the consumers and sorting out the problems.

Activist Schaeffer Okore has asked Kenyan women to resist buying pads from Always until the issue is addressed.

Here are some of the concerns raised by women on twitter:

This is not only happening in Kenya, but in Uganda as well.
My sister got a boil as a result of using always sanitary towels.

Pay attention to #MyAlwaysExperience : #Kenyan women are sharing complaints about Always sanitary pads, which they say cause irritation, burn the skin, cause infection and are scented. https://t.co/X0Y0dnBlrm

I mean barely anyone I know uses Always any more, not since freshman year in uni. Loud, itchy, scented (WHO ASKED FOR THAT??) and uncaring of their customers. Protest with your money. If we don't buy, they can buy their own stuff… #MyAlwaysExperience

The Kenyan women have complained about the price , the scent and the quality of the pads in humid areas.

Always Kenya responded to the complaints to message them directly with the complaints to be addressed.
