A captain and his co. pilot are being held hostage in South Sudan after their aircraft crashed killing one person on the ground, 5 cows and destroyed property including part of the airport’s perimeter fence.
Captain Pius Frank Njoroge and his co. pilot identified as Shamala were flying the 5Y-FDC Cessna Caravan on 7 January from Akobo, South Sudan.
Sources privy to the details say that all the nine passengers were evacuated to safety before the aircraft burst into flames.

It has also been said that those holding the two Kenyans are demanding for USD 200,000 for their release.
According to the source, the two have been receiving one meal per day, and are now looking frail and in dire need of help.
