Kenyan athletes to the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championship in Asaba, Nigeria have bemoaned their mistreatment in Lagos.
Led by the African and Commonwealth Javelin Throw record holder Julius Yego they called out the host country for failing Africa.
For the second day, Yego and team spend the night in Lagos after failing to connect a flight to Asaba, the venue of the competition, in the Delta State.
The situation was worse on Monday as they were forced to sleep on the floor at Lagos International Airport.
“Stranded for the second night at the airport now back to hotel, yet we have a competition starting tomorrow morning!
We are not sure if we will go to Asaba the place of competition tomorrow.
Nigeria has failed Africa, CAA has failed African lovers of athletics,” Yego, who is also known as the YouTube man posted on Facebook.

2017 World Championships gold medalist Elijah Manangoi called on Kenyans to pray for them.
“Still stranded at Lagos Airport and the competition is starting tomorrow, bad situation, Wakenya pray for us,” the 25-year-old also posted on his Facebook.
According to reports, Kenya has threatened to board the next flight back home with some athletes vowing never to honor the African championship in the future.
Nigerian authorities and CAA, the Africa’s athletics body, are yet to issue official statements over the embarrassing situation that has affected over 200 athletes from across the continent .
