Kenya Power customers will not access the prepaid services for two days, the company has announced.
In a notice appearing in local dailies, the power company stated that the services will be unavailable starting Tuesday, April 9 to Wednesday, April 10.
The temporary shutdown is meant to enable migration of data to a new hardware for improved services.
“We wish to inform our esteemed customers that the prepaid systems will be temporarily shut down from Tuesday 9th April 11pm to Wednesday 10th April 6pm. To enable migration of data to a new hardware for improved service delivery,” said Kenya Power.
Purchase of electricity tokens, prepaid paybill number and every other prepaid vending channels will be unavailable.

“As such, we advise our customers to purchase tokens early to avoid inconveniences from the shutdown,” the advert continued.
It was noted, however that post-paid bill services will not be affected.
